Somerset Community College
Play should be comic in nature, No profanity or sexual content. Prize: $30-45
Accepts any form, style or genre. Prize: $200 plus 10% of box office
Thespis Theater Festival
Only playwrights from NY, NJ and CT will be accepted. If selected, playwright must direct/cast show etc, and bring in 39 audience members. Prize: $3500.
Weathervane Community Playhouse
Playwrights must be U.S. citizens, Play must use a “Tennis Racquet” as a prop, can be incidental, or the play’s centerpiece, but it must be seen on stage. Prizes range: $50-$350. Fee: $10
Any Genre except musicals. Prize: $700. Fee: $5. (Free if Dramatist Guild member).
Ft. Myers, Fl
Ohio State University: Newark
Accepts any form, style or genre. Prize: $ 500
Bloomington Playwrights Project: Woodward/Newman Award
Full Length (75-135 min)
Drama(?). Musicals ok. Prize: $3000. Fee: $10, or $0 if Dramatist Guild member.
Toowoomba Repertory Theatre
One Act (30-45 minutes)
No restrictions on subject matter, theme or style. Prize: $500-$2000 Fee: $30 (Australian $)
