I have written a children’s musical about homelessness to be performed by a variety of animals portraying the many types of homeless people. I have some wonderful songs and a work with a message of dignity and love. Where to submit? Do I need help from an established playwright to shore it up ? Do I need high quality demos of the songs? Help!
Silver Birchington Plays are a new play publisher accepting scripts of any length or genre.
Hi people
I have nine plays published online by Lazy Bee Scripts. I have also had plays performed on professional stages like The Unity, Liverpool; the Dukes, Lancaster; The Lowry, Salford Quays, Greater Manchester. And many drama festivals including Windsor, Buxton and Edinburgh. Now, a new regime seems to be in place at Lazy Bee Scripts and my stuff is not as welcome. So in my need I turn to you.
Please feel free to submit your work to Silver Birchington Plays. We are a new online publisher.
I have been involved with local Am Dram & got sick of boring predictable “nice” plays. Have written a play & want to take it further. It’s not suitable for kids. Is about four bad people going to Hell for their sins. Any help & advice would be most welcome please?
Hello Peter
I too have had plays published by Lazy Bee Scripts and have encountered exactly the same problem. Three scripts – thoroughly researched have been rejected
In one case the play was previously published by SchoolPlay Productions, and having had twenty five productions, was rejected as unsuitable for Lazy Bee. I no longer bother to submit to them.
Have you had any luck in finding a new publisher?
I would like to get info of how to submit a play, christian musical based on the book of Esther from the bible.

I was wondering if any of these companies will accept a synopsis or treatment, or do they all prefer a completed script? Thank you.

I have an autobiographical, one woman play that I have performed numerous times. I would like to get it officially published. Do you know of any companies that will consider one woman plays?
I have been an elementary music teacher for the past 40 years and during that time I wrote plays that incorporated music to replace the usual end of the year, spring concert. The shows run between 60 and 90 minutes, incorporates grades Pre-K through 5th grade, has minimal costume requirements and the speaking parts can be gender neutral. Can you advise me on a possible next step?
I have written a play that is an adaption of a book written in 1943. The author died in 1967. Would this book be considered public domain? Do I have to jump through any hoops before submitting it to a play publisher?
